donneely news

June 30th July 7th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
In the next few weeks, there will be a number of organizations with scheduled meetings (i.e., fire dept., rendsville 4-h, city council, community club, etc. Due to the COVID 19, I have no idea if any meetings or events will even be held as scheduled so please check before planning on attending anything.

Weather News some rain last week was very welcome, but it is still dry around here. Crops look good so far suspect most of the corn will be knee-high or even waist high in a few places by the 4th
Church news, some churches in the area are beginning to open up. GSLC -Morris has limited services inside Sundays at 9 a.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the church. On Sundays until July 12th at 10:15 a.m., there will be a worship service outdoors; after that, they will switch to Wed. a.m. All three services will be the same. At 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, there is outdoor worship at Faith- Morris.
Please check with your local church for what their plans are. A reminder that you will find virtual services, devotions, etc. on fb, YouTube, local access channels church websites and the radio for many area churches
ST. John's/Kongsvinger news: Rev Rochelle Anderson of Morris will be providing pastoral care until further notice, if you need care, contact the parish office. You can also watch our "virtue" services on Facebook and youtube.
The parish office is closed due to the COVID 19 outbreak, call 246-3211, or e-mail (stjKong@runestone.net) or send mail (box 97) if you need assistance.
There will be no 4th of July celebration at Kongsvinger this year.
The physical area VBS led by Luther crest scheduled for this summer at Faith has been canceled and will be replaced by an e-edition later this summer.
There will be a west-central word alone reunion at the Starbuck park in late July stay tuned for more info.
No decision has been made about the fate of this year's threshing bee yet, if you wish to express your opinion on it, please contact one of the officers.
Due to COVID 19, many of the parades and community festivals our threshing bee royalty regularly attend during the summer have been canceled or scaled back.
I have brought my news box back to McCollar's Jewelry, and I will hopefully be coming up to Donnelly more frequently to check my box in the PO.
The Rendsville 4-h club is looking for volunteers to weed/maintain/water the rain garden in Donnelly by the fire hall as they are unable to do it themselves due to COVID 19. Thanks to the members, advisors, and parents for all the hard work they have put into making Donnelly look beautiful this year.
Thank you to the Donnelly co-op for the matching grant they gave to RUSC Kinship recently
Past week parking lot services at Gs and Faith -Morris, workday at Rose city threshing show, visit with chuck Spohr at his home in Morris
