donnelly news

May 19-26th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Since everything from community events to church services has been postponed or canceled due to the Coronavirus, I have decided not to list any events for the foreseeable future. Before you plan to attend any events I have listed in my columns, please check to make sure they are still on. Since everything is constantly changing, please listen to local media and /or check fb posts for any updated info. Also, some of the meetings may be held virtually instead of physically, i.e., the district 12 rep nominating convention on May 19th.  Also, some Donnelly business may be temporally closed, have reduced hours, limited services, access, etc.
Weather News: We have had a few sunny, mild days in the past week; however, it is still cool esp. in the evenings we had some "frost on the pumpkin" late last week.  I do not get out to town much nowadays, but as far as I know, widespread fieldwork has yet to get underway
Until further notice, there will be no services and events at St. John's and Kongsvinger, Donnelly; Gslc, Morris, or any other church in the area. Some churches, pastors in the area are posting devotions, "services," etc. on places like Facebook, YouTube, the radio, etc. GSLC is going to have a parking lot service every Sunday at 10 a.m. at the church, and there is also a community service at the MAES parking lot at 9:30 a.m.  KMRS will broadcast that service. Pr Mike Hanson tells me he hopes to have summer services on Wed. eve again this year at GSLC
St John' s/Kongsvinger news: we have two h.s. and two higher Ed grads this year in our parish. I plan to have my annual graduation issue in a few weeks.
Rev Rochelle Anderson of Morris will be providing pastoral care until further notice, if you need care, contact the parish office.
Pr Mike Nelson is scheduled to leave Donnelly later this month since we were unable to have a farewell service/dinner /program for him at this time; we are hoping he can come back later this year for such an event. If you wish, you can send him a card at box 97 Donnelly MN. 56235 or leave one at the parish office for him. The Kopacek family and I were among those who took part in the farewell "parade" for Pr Mike and Sue Nelson and family in Donnelly on May 3rd. You can watch his last service at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxuI6HbSZpE.
The parish office is closed due to the COVID 19 outbreak, call  246-3211 or e-mail (stjKong@runestone.net_) if you need assistance.

  1. I'm 57 years old and female. I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with COPD and I was beyond scared! My lung function test indicated 49% capacity. After having had flu a year ago, the shortness of breath, coughing and chest pains continued even after being treated with antibiotics. I've been smoking two packs a day for 36 years. Being born without a sternum caused my ribs to be curled in just one inch away from my spine, resulting to underdeveloped lungs. At age 34 I had surgery and it was fixed. Unfortunately my smoking just caused more damage to my already under developed lungs. The problem was having is that I enjoy smoking and don't want to give up! Have tried twice before and nearly went crazy and don't want to go through that again. I saw the fear in my husband and children's eyes when I told them about my condition then they start to find solution on their own to help my condition.I am an 57 now who was diagnose COPD emphysema which I know was from my years of smoking. I started smoking in school when smoking was socially acceptable. I remember when smoking was permitted in hospitals. It was not known then how dangerous cigarettes were for us, and it seemed everybody smoked but i was able to get rid of my COPD lung condition through the help of  Dr Akhigbe   total cure herbal medicine. my husband saw his testimony on the internet he used his powerful medicine to cured different diseases. we contacted his email   [drrealakhigbe@gmail.com}   He has the right herbal formula to help you get rid and repair any lung conditions and others diseases, will cure you totally and permanently with his natural organic herbs,We received the medicine through courier delivery service.
